Crypto Whale Wallet Tracker · BTC + ETH

Smart money leaves footprints. This dashboard shows daily flow into and out of the largest BTC and ETH wallets, classified by holder type so "exchange outflow" tells you something different from "ETF inflow".

Preview data · not yet live

The wallet labels are real public holders, but the per-day movements shown below are seeded sample data, not live on-chain activity. The full real-time tracker (Glassnode + Whale-Alert + Etherscan integration) launches in Q3 2026.

How we classify wallets

Four categories, four different signals

🏦

Exchange

Wallets owned by centralized exchanges (Binance, Coinbase, Kraken). Outflows = users withdrawing for self-custody (bullish); inflows = users moving to sell (bearish).

📈

ETF custodian

Coinbase Custody, BlackRock, Fidelity. Tracks the spot Bitcoin / Ethereum ETF flows. Inflows reflect institutional demand; outflows reflect redemptions.

Miner / validator

BTC miner pool wallets, ETH validator addresses. Net outflow = miners selling production; net hold = miners retaining inventory (anticipating higher prices).

💼

Treasury

Known corporate treasuries (MicroStrategy, Tesla, Galaxy). Large accumulations or distributions here have outsized market impact relative to flow size.

Why it matters

Whale tracking is signal, not noise

The largest crypto wallets move on different information than retail. ETF custodians flow with institutional demand; exchange wallets flow with retail risk appetite; miner pools flow with operational economics. Watching them separately gives you a four-dimensional read on positioning.

A few patterns recur. Exchange net outflow sustained over multiple weeks usually precedes price strength — coins leaving exchanges are no longer on the sell-side order book. ETF net inflow >$500M/day for 5+ days has historically marked sustained rallies in 2024–2026.

The trickier signal is miner distribution. Miners hold inventory when they expect higher prices and sell when they need to cover costs. A sustained miner distribution rate above the daily issuance rate is bearish; below is bullish. Cycle 4 has seen miners hold unusually tight since the April 2024 halving.

The real value of whale tracking comes from combining categories. ETF inflows + exchange outflows + miner holds = strong setup. ETF outflows + exchange inflows + miner distribution = caution. Single-category reads tell you 30% of the story.

FAQ

Crypto whale tracking — frequently asked questions

What counts as a "whale" wallet?

For Bitcoin, we track wallets with ≥1,000 BTC (~$77M+ at current prices). For Ethereum, ≥10,000 ETH (~$21M+). These thresholds capture roughly the top 2,000 BTC wallets and top 500 ETH wallets — large enough that single transactions move the needle, small enough that the list is auditable.

How are wallets labeled?

Public exchange wallets and ETF custodians are labeled from disclosed addresses (Glassnode, Arkham, and individual issuer filings). Miner pool wallets are clustered by historical coinbase-transaction signature. Unlabeled large wallets are categorized as "Unknown holder" — these often correspond to early adopters or lost keys.

Is the data live right now?

Not yet. This page currently shows seeded sample data using real wallet labels. The full live integration (Glassnode + Whale-Alert + Etherscan APIs with 5-minute refresh) launches in Q3 2026.

Can whales manipulate the market?

Individual whales can cause short-term price moves through large market orders, but sustained price action requires aligned flows across multiple categories. A single whale dumping 5,000 BTC will move price for hours, not weeks. The aggregated whale-flow signal is much harder to manipulate than any individual transaction.

How do whale flows feed into your predictions?

Once whale data goes live (Q3 2026), it will become a 6th input to our prediction ensemble — alongside momentum, mean-reversion, trend, power-law, and GBM. Exchange-flow z-scores will be the primary signal extracted.

Guide

How to read whale wallet activity

  1. 1

    View the 24-hour net flow

Top stats show BTC and ETH net flow to exchanges over the trailing 24 hours. Positive = inflow (potential sell pressure); negative = outflow (accumulation).

  2. 2

    Toggle between BTC and ETH

The chain selector switches the whole dashboard between Bitcoin and Ethereum data.

  3. 3

    Read the top movers panel

Largest 24h transfers ranked by size, with wallet attribution where known (ETF custodian, miner, exchange cold/hot wallet, DAO treasury).

  4. 4

    Check the exchange-flow chart

A 7-day cumulative net-flow chart showing whether the market is in accumulation or distribution mode.

  5. 5

Click any wallet for full history

Opens the wallet's transaction history and known clustering — useful for tracking specific custodians or funds.

  6. 6

    Set up wallet alerts

Free tier: 1 alert. Pro tier: unlimited alerts on any wallet for inflow / outflow / threshold crossings.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about the crypto whale wallet tracker

What is a crypto whale? +
A wallet holding enough of an asset to materially move its price by buying or selling. Conventional thresholds: 1,000+ BTC, 10,000+ ETH, or top-100 holder of any token. The 1,000-BTC cohort holds ~40% of all Bitcoin supply.
Why track whale wallets? +
Whale movements often front-run retail. Large inflows to exchanges are a leading indicator of sell pressure; large outflows from exchanges into cold-storage wallets indicate accumulation. Tracking the top 100 wallets gives you a directional signal on smart-money positioning.
Whose wallets do you track? +
Public-attribution wallets including ETF custodians (BlackRock IBIT, Fidelity FBTC, Grayscale GBTC), major mining pools (Foundry USA, Antpool, ViaBTC), exchange cold/hot wallets (Coinbase, Binance, Kraken), known DAO treasuries, and verified protocol-owned wallets.
How do you identify whale wallets? +
A mix of public on-chain attribution (Arkham, Etherscan tags), clustering heuristics (wallets that share transactions or signatures), and direct exchange / institutional disclosures. We never identify wallets associated with a single individual without their public consent.
What does "net flow to exchanges" mean? +
BTC or ETH transferred onto exchange wallets minus the amount transferred off, over a given window. Net inflow is typically a bearish near-term signal (coins moved to exchange to sell); net outflow is bullish (coins moved off to self-custody).
Are inflows to exchanges always bearish? +
No — context matters. ETF custodian inflows look like exchange inflows on-chain but are accumulation, not sell-side. We tag ETF and OTC custodian flows separately to avoid the false signal.
How often is whale tracker data updated? +
Continuous polling of Ethereum and Bitcoin mempool / block data. UI refreshes every 60 seconds. Major transfers (>1,000 BTC or >10,000 ETH) trigger immediate alerts in the top-movers panel.
Can I track a specific wallet address? +
Free tier: read-only view of any wallet via paste-in lookup. Pro tier (Q2 2026): unlimited custom-wallet tracking, alerts on threshold crossings, and inflow/outflow notifications via email or Telegram.
